We acknowledge we are meeting on the Traditional Lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nations and pay our respect to their Elders past, present and emerging.
Prahran Place is a not-for-profit organisation that operates as a Neighbourhood House. To foster our aim to connect people to create a stronger, resilient and healthier community, we partner with the NHVic team to support Carers in our community. This includes activities for carers that give them opportunities to meet others, get out and about, learn new skills or keep fit. Prahran Place is a Carer Friendly Place open to you to participate in courses, use our resources to access information and services and just come and relax in our social spaces.
Offering all carers of a person with a disability, mental illness or older person a free group to connect and learn about news, services and supports available.
Come along each month for a social get together, afternoon tea and guest speaker on the services and supports available.
Join us on the first Tuesday of each month between 1 and 230pm. Book online HERE
Our next guest speakers:
5th September – Arati from Elders Rights Advocacy
3rd October – Joe from Social Health Australia
31st October (7th November is a public holiday) – Kei from Alfred Health’s Carer Engagement Team
And a huge thank you to all our guests in 2023:

Are you someone who provides unpaid care and support to family members and/or friends with a disability, mental illness, chronic health issue or an older person with care needs? You may be eligible for our Carers Program
If you are an unpaid carer (not employed as a carer / support worker role), sign up to the Prahan Place Carer’s program to receive free access to community programs. Caring can be a demanding service and often restricts the lives of carers and their families by creating financial hardship, social isolation, decreased emotional wellbeing and missed opportunities. The goal of this program is to provide support and education to unpaid carers to overcome these barriers. Talk to us to learn more about how Carers Victoria, Neighbourhood Houses Victoria and Prahan Place can help you access the following services:
